SCORES of chieftains of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in Njikoka local government area, yesterday, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, just as they pledged their support for the governorship candidate of the party, Chief Oseloka Obaze in the scheduled November 18 poll in Anambra State.
The leader of the group and former chairman of Dunukofia local government, Hon. Godwin Eze said they decided to pitch their political tent with the PDP because its governorship candidate was a seasoned technocrat that would provide the desired good governance for the people of Anambra state having served as secretary to the state government.
The former coordinator of Willie Obiano support group who spoke at his Ukpo ward one said they have resolved to deliver Obaze in Njikoka come November 18 governorship election in the state.
He said,“We have seen that the spirit of the late Eze Igbogburugburu, Chief Odumegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, has departed from APGA and the party has no electoral fortunes to win any election again, and that is why we decided to leave the party.”
According to Eze, APGA lacks internal democracy and does not provide democratic dividend to the people at the grass roots adding that leadership of the party are self-centered and practice politics of exclusion, adding, “I want to urge not only the people of Njikoka but the entire Anambra state to support and vote massively for the PDP candidate, Chief Osaeloka Obaze, who had been tested and the only candidate that would deliver the goods to the people of Anambra State.”
